Bio
Biography
It started with stoned jams and performances amongst friends in bedrooms in the 90’s. This progressed slightly to acoustic gigs in Liverpool then onto Preston University where brief spells in bands called ‘Ogmios’ and ‘The Jimmy Reed Quagmire Band’ happened. Eventually this blossomed into local cult band ‘The Way’.
Then came fatherhood. Everything else then came second. A few other bands came later along the way most notably ‘Juvinilia’ and ‘The Glass Beads’ to whom I lent my bass playing and lead guitar services.
The Mystery Force eventually came from years of going alone; acoustic gigs in bars and festivals, running an open mic night, but mainly home recording.
The e.p. was the most extensive project to date, including a music video and an accompanying art exhibition. Following release, the songs got a run out locally at gigs and festivals. Since then it’s been back to going solo, material accumulating gradually, with something to manifest in 2022..
The Mystery Force and my trust in it is an ever blossoming manifestation of co-creation.
The future now only needs to be dreamt about.

While walking the Lord and Lady’s six dogs three times daily, David’s place of residence during lockdown provided all of the existential anxiety, the opportunity to let go, and the freedom to sing freely from the roots with no one around.
In Dreaming Awake’s acoustic sessions these natural melodies, while undergoing a gentle sculpting over time, still contain everything that combined to create them; head, heart and guts.”
